Beautiful Oak Flooring

on the Shores of the Baltic Sea

Kitchen and interior designer Eliis Henrikson selected our oak flooring with a super-white oil finish for this contemporary apartment on the shores of the Baltic Sea.

The super-white oil colour was selected due its close colour match with the kitchen units and also the oak dining table and chairs. For added protection two coats of matte hardwax oil were applied in the factory giving the owner peace of mind that any future coffee, cooking oil or wine spillages would not lead to staining of the floor.

A rustic grade of oak with visible knots was selected as it was deemed to fit better with the modern vintage theme than select quality which does not exhibit visible knots.

Ekland Wood’s oak flooring was also chosen because of its long board lengths. Board lengths range from 1500 – 2900 mm with 80% of boards being longer than 2000 mm.

The oak flooring boards were “engineered” which meant that the flooring comprised of an oak lamella of 4 mm thickness affixed to a base of birch plywood of 12 mm thickness meaning that this flooring could be combined with underfloor heating without the risk of expansion or contraction of the flooring boards.

Our client was delighted with her choice of flooring not only due to its attractive appearance and its durability but also because in purchasing such a high quality and long lasting oak floor it added considerable investment value to the apartment itself.
