Decking

The durability of decking boards is achieved by intense modification which produces an environmentally friendly alternative to both tropical hardwoods and impregnated wood. Thermal modification significantly improves wood’s rot resistance.

Decking does not require surface treatment. However, as with any wood without oiling treatment, Thermory Thermo-Ash and Thermo-Pine will naturally age to silver/grey over time. Depending on the amount of UV exposure, this process will take anywhere from several months to a year.

To minimize colour changes, the wood can be protected by applying regular UV oil or pigmented UV mineral oil. The following photo shows the effects over one year between oiling with UV oil and not oiling.
