Arctic Bath Hotellet, Harads, Sverige

I det här extraordinära projektet av arkitekten Bertil Harström, vars fasad av hopade björkstockar representerar vintertidens timmerflottning på Luleälven i svenska Lappland, användes furu både som ytterbeklädnad och som väggpaneler inomhus där de kombinerades vackert med plattor av baltisk grå kalksten.

Beklädnaden av furu lämnades obehandlad och får nu en lätt silvergrå färg när den åldras så att byggnaden kan smälta in i Lapplands orörda landskap precis som arkitekten hade tänkt sig.
